HEAL Recipe Contest is Seeking your Best Healthy Recipes!

Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Schuyler is having a recipe contest for amateur and professional chefs to showcase the creative ways people are eating healthy in Schuyler County. We are looking for recipes that meet the Choose HEALth gold standards, use local ingredients and taste great. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place recipes. Schuyler Hospital Auxiliary Names Volunteer of Year, New Officers

At their annual spring luncheon in May, the Schuyler Hospital Auxiliary named their Volunteer of the Year and voted in new officers.

Betty Vinti was named Volunteer of the Year for taking magazines and books around to Seneca View residents weekly, assuring that November Splendor attendees sign the historical “doctors’ dance” book, and helping out with a variety of events and activities.

Schuyler Steps Out Names Winners

The 13th annual Schuyler Steps Out community walking challenge has wrapped up with a repeat winner, as well as awards for Most Valuable Walkers.

 

Grand Prix Fitness of Montour Falls now has two wins in a row.  Grand Prix Fitness’ “Workout Warriors” took the lead in Week 1, and completed the 8-week program with most cumulative average steps.

Schuyler Hospital breaks ground on Med-Surg construction

Schuyler Hospital [a member of Cayuga Health System] held a groundbreaking ceremony today to kick off the construction of a 15,000 square foot state-of-the-art Medical-Surgical inpatient unit. This is Phase 1 of a two-part construction project expected to be completed by July 2020. The project was made possible by a $10.3 million New York State Statewide Health Care Facility Program Grant that was awarded in July of 2017.
