Cayuga Health and Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services [C.A.R.S.] officials announced today that they are at the beginning stages of entering a collaborative partnership to enhance the delivery of addiction recovery services throughout the region. The work to finalize the affiliation between C.A.R.S. and Cayuga Health System will be completed over the next several months.
“We are very pleased to announce this partnership with Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services,” states Dr. Martin Stallone, President & CEO of Cayuga Health. “Addiction continues to be a growing problem throughout society. As health care providers and a community health system, we need to make sure we have treatment and support across a multitude of disciplines. Although we have worked closely with C.A.R.S. for decades, once finalized, this new interdependent relationship will bring a new level of clinical expertise and services within our health system providing continuity and efficiencies for patient recovery care, right here.”
Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services offers outpatient and residential Chemical Dependency Services, an Opioid Treatment Program and a comprehensive, longer term residential treatment program for men at the 60-bed Residential Addiction Recovery Center in Trumansburg.
“Based on the many years we have worked closely and successfully with Cayuga Health, this is a logical next step to affiliate with an organization that is dedicated to our community,” states Dale Johnson, C.A.R.S President of the Board of Directors. “It allows for local control of our organization and gives us the opportunity to transition to an environment we are very comfortable with.”
“Once completed, we expect this partnership to be seamless for our clients and our team of experienced clinicians, nurses and counselors,” states Jessica Janssen, C.A.R.S. CEO. “We have already established a great working relationship with Cayuga Health, and they have been an outstanding community partner over the years. This new structure will create a mutually reliant framework between our organizations that will benefit the community and improve services.”
Tom LiVigne, Chairman, Cayuga Health Board of Directors states, “We continue to develop long-term partnerships and interdisciplinary community health care connections to benefit the residents of Tompkins County and the surrounding areas. We are proud of our accomplishments and continued growth, especially this past year when our main focus has been on protecting our community during the pandemic.”
Cayuga Health will continue to work with local addiction recovery services as they have done in the past.
