Seneca View COVID-19 Update to Residents and Families 8 27 2021

To all Seneca View Residents and Families:

Please be advised that we have had a fully vaccinated nursing home staff member test positive for COVID-19 this morning.  As a result, the facility is returning to full isolation precautions to prevent any potential spreading.  Twice weekly testing of all staff and residents has also been resumed and will continue until we are clear of any positive cases for 14 days.

The facility has been advised by the Department of Health to postpone resident visitation during our initial house-wide testing to determine the extent of any outbreak.  Individual nursing units may be able to reopen for visitation based upon the results of their initial testing and ongoing negative test results.

Small group resident activities and socially distant dining routines will also be temporarily discontinued until each nursing unit gets the “all-clear.”  Visits to residents on the end of life visitation program will not be interrupted although additional infection prevention measures may be required of visitors.

We will be providing more information as it becomes available.

Please continue to monitor our SCHUYLERHOSPITAL.ORG website, and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.  You can also reach our State Ombudsman, Trish Chevallard, at (607) 274-5492, if you need.

Warmest Regards,

Patrick J. Ryan
